SIDC SOLAR BULLETIN 22 Feb 2005, 1224UT
SIDC FORECAST (valid from 1230UT, 22 Feb 2005 until 24 Feb 2005)
SOLAR FLARES : Quiet conditions (<50% probability of C-class flares)
GEOMAGNETISM : Active conditions expected (A>=20 or K=4)
SOLAR PROTONS : Quiet
PREDICTIONS FOR 22 Feb 2005 10CM FLUX: 095 / AP: 007
PREDICTIONS FOR 23 Feb 2005 10CM FLUX: 090 / AP: 012
PREDICTIONS FOR 24 Feb 2005 10CM FLUX: 085 / AP: 019

COMMENT: The solar activity is very low and is expected to remain so,
with only a possible C flare from the two active regions that are now
approaching the West limb.

The solar wind speed declined further to 380km/s, with a weakly
positive Bz. As a result, the geomagnetic field was mostly quiet over
the last 24h. It should remain quiet for one more day. Then, late on
Feb. 23 or on Feb. 24, it is expected to become unsettled to active, due
to a high speed solar wind stream from a small coronal hole, with a
possible brief minor storm interval at high latitude. This moderately
disturbed period will probably last only for one or two days.
