SIDC SOLAR BULLETIN 27 Feb 2005, 1216UT
SIDC FORECAST (valid from 1230UT, 27 Feb 2005 until 01 Mar 2005)
SOLAR FLARES : Quiet conditions (<50% probability of C-class flares)
GEOMAGNETISM : Quiet (A<20 and K<4)
SOLAR PROTONS : Quiet
PREDICTIONS FOR 27 Feb 2005 10CM FLUX: 077 / AP: 013
PREDICTIONS FOR 28 Feb 2005 10CM FLUX: 077 / AP: 010
PREDICTIONS FOR 01 Mar 2005 10CM FLUX: 077 / AP: 006

COMMENT: There is now only one sunspot group on the Sun, containing only
a few tiny spots, and the X-ray background remains at the A2 level. This
very low activity, without any flare, is expected to continue for the
next 3 days, barring the sudden emergence of a new active region.
The solar wind keeps a moderate speed (500km/s) but shows signs of
decline. As in addition the Bz component of the IMF is mostly positive,
the geomagnetic field was unsettled, with only brief active conditions
at high latitude. As the fast wind stream decays in the next 24 hours, the
geomagnetic conditions are expected to return to quiet levels.
