Seems easy enought to do. Certaily I'd operate without the external ground connected. This being said presumes you have 3rd pin ground being used for the power supply and the amp. If these are "lifted" then it is not adviseable to remove the other ground. In any event, NEC requires 3rd pin ground to be in place.

Also, the external ground must be bonded outside of the structure to the AC mains ground. This too per NEC.

Correct. But with the Paragon series and Omni V & VI series, anytime you have a mike connected along with the back panel source too then you have both connected.

Absolutely true -- but I have never yet used the rear connector.

Use the mike when needed but disconnect the rear pnl connection. Same when using the audio in on the rear, disconnect the mike.

Again, bond all equipment together at the power supply and forget abt a dedicated external ground.
I can try removing the external ground. I currently have 3/4" wide single piece of braid going from the radio to the PS to the amp to an outside ground (total length from last unit in line to the hole in the basement wall is less than 5 feet).
