BX tower is rated for a maximum of 6 square feet of wind load, with a maximum 
boom length of 10 feet. The Stepp IR 3 element exceeds that on both counts.
A mast running the length of the tower also adds to the wind load.

I agree with Bob. Having the rotator at the base would be great but if you 
own a SteppIR (which it´s a fabulous antenna) a new whole installations
including a fold over base would be almost a must. 73s!

I'd scrap that whole BX setup and get a whole new installation that
folds over at the base using a post, winch and cable.  BX sucks for
climbing anyway & with a tube inside, forget it.  You could maintain
the rotator at the base but you'd never get to the beam to work on it,
unless you got up to it in a bucket.
