I used I beam material rather than pipe. I have a 25G (75ft)and 45G (100ft) both done that way. The I beams are anchored in concrete of course. I had tabs added to the I beam for the guy ends on the 25G posts and a 0.75 inch rod through holes in the I beam for the 45G. The guy tabs are about 6 feet above ground to allow my tractor  to run close but under the guys. Both towers have been up for years and through hurricanes and a tornado.

FWIW

I have a small lot and my tower is 70' of 25G.  Due to some obstacles in the yard that can't be worked around I need to sink some metal pipe in concrete and attach the guys about 6 feet up instead of taking them down to the ground.  I realize this isn't the preferred situation.

What type of pipe should I be looking for?

Thanks, Rick N0VT
