Rick, You can look at the attenuation on a data sheet. Here is an example of a Belden RG-11 type CATV cable. The center conductor is copper coated steel but the attenuation at 1Mhz is low: <https://edeskv2.belden.com/Products/index.cfm?event=showproductdetail&partid=7131> Since it is used the receiving it is only rated at 300v.
