I have an Omni 6 and an Omni 6+ and the manuals seem to be pretty detailed to me. Most of the manual is devoted to descriptions of componets and service information. What is it that I am missing here? I would think that with the information supplied that any person with an electronics back ground could service them.

I would like to sell one of them.
The 6 has a 500 cycle filter in the 9 MC slot and option 1 installed. The 6+ has a 1.8 MC and 500 cycle filter in the 9 MC slots. I want $1000 shipped to 48 states for the 6 or $1300 shipped to 48 states for the 6+ Both are in very good condition. Being an amature amature radio operator I cant see any difference in their performance other than the extra filter in the 6+? The 6 + had a power problem when I bought it and is recently back from Ten-tec where it had some pin diodes replaced and an alignment.

It does take many hours to write and produce a service manual, but TT
could sell them separately for those who want them. When I bought my
Icom R-71A, I bought the service manual too, and I'm very glad that I did.

I had no idea that Ten-Tec was no longer supplying servicing
information. My Corsair, Paragon, and Scout all came with detailed
manuals. This is what set Ten-Tec apart from the imports. Traditionally,
Ten Tec encouraged owners to service their equipment, even making spare
boards available. Not so with the imports. It will be a sad day when Ten
Tec products can only be serviced at the factory.

I have been trying to get this type of information for my OMNI V for years
with no luck.
Ten Tec simply will not give it out.
This is kind of like what the Thorens turntable company did long ago.
It was fine until the company was sold and the company included the dealers
in the non distribution of repair information.
Some of us kept copies of all the old technical information and shared the
information with others.
Eventually the company that bought Thorens went under and it is a good thing
we did what we did.
Every bit of technical information that we did not save went under with the
company.
One day if that happens to Ten Tec and they are no longer around to repair
we will be in trouble.
I have long advocated that we get together and share with each other any
technical information we can get are hands on.
I was told by the top man at Ten Tec that the decision not to make service manuals, after the Paragon, was a business decision to save the cost of making
service manuals.
That may have been a good thing for Ten Tec but not for owners.
I would like to know what the rest of you think about this problem.
