I would support it, After all, you aren't likely to post high scores in any
one category when you divide your time, but do give opportunity to others
to possibly work new multipliers. I never understood why there is only a
QRP category for portable stations either.

As for log checking. Not a problem. It's either logged correctly or
tossed out. I don't get the points when I fat finger a call or band and
that's on me. It happens way too often. Why are they checking to verify a
/R and fixing my mistake there and not elsewhere? Not to be too harsh but I
either logged it correctly and got the points or didn't do it properly and
didn't get the points.
