Several weeks ago I posted that my neighbor was having a solar system
installed by SunRay here in Bergen County NJ. On the day of the
installation I spoke with the team leader who had ZERO interest in talking
to me. His attitude was, "so your radio should prevent people from getting
solar"?
I immediately contacted Solar Edge. A few participants in this forum
quickly suggested that such issues should go through the ARRL. Since the
installation was completed I wasn't seeing any RFI, and later learned that
Solar Edge wasn't allowing the system to be activated. Hmm ..
This morning I got an e-mail from Solar Edge informing me the system was
activated and that the installer was contacted and agreeable to make the
necessary changes to fix the situation. They are requesting a meeting with
me to obtain the affected frequencies so that the necessary parts can be
shipped. I'm only seeing some RFI on 40m, and only in the upper section of
the phone band.
In my response to Solar Edge I thanked them for the follow up and suggested
they work more closely with the ARRL. If they can offer an RFI acceptable
system, they have 750K potential customer in the amateur radio community.
More details to follow...
