I may just wait until after that beast passes before I rebuild my antennas.

COMMENT: Solar activity is clearly on the increase. Of the regions currently
visible on the disk, two sunspot groups have a fair chance for generating
C-class flares: Catania sunspot groups 10 (NOAA 0669) and 11 (NOAA 0671). Both
these groups are growing fast and have developed a beta magnetic classification.
Catania 10 already produced a C1.1 flare yesterday. In EIT images, Catania 11 is
highlighted as a particularly dynamical group.
The main thing to watch out for, however, is an active region that is still
mostly hidden behind the west limb, with currently only the tops of the
overlying loop system visible. This active region was responsible for a
long-duration C2.8 flare yesterday, which was accompanied by a partial halo CME.
It is likely that the same region was already responsible for the backsided halo
CMEs detected over the past few days. There is clearly a very active sunspot
group lurking behind the east limb. We expect that this region will rotate fully
into view in the coming days, and flaring activity will increase to M-class
flares and possibly X-class flares in the course of the next 48 hours.
Geomagnetic conditions are currently quiet and are expected to remain so for
the next few days.
