As I post this email I'm being buffeted by near hurricane force wind gusts from 
the west eyewall of Hurricane Frances. Though I have back up power facilities I 
may still end up with no electricity for a few days. If that happens I will not 
be able to moderate this list for a while.

GEOMAGNETISM  : Active conditions expected (A>=20 or K=4)

COMMENT: Flaring activity is low, the X-ray background as measured by GOES is
just below the B1 level. The interplanetary magnetic field is now 10 nT. The
strength has been growing since this morning. The B_z component had reached
values between -7nT and +7nT. Solar wind speed is low: 300 km/s but shows an
increasing tendency. The density on his turn has increased according to ACE and
CELIAS/SOHO. This indicates that we will possibly come under the influence of a
coronal hole windstream.
