I once wrote an complaining email to an Eastern European hot shot op who used
cut numbers throughout a serial number contest. He replied with a detailed
estimate of how much time he'd saved during the contest based on the number of
QSOs he had and the frequency of cut numbers in the digits 0-9. It added up.
There wasn't much I could say to that, except I didn't like it.

would attempt to ban the practice. At the expense of your score you
could choose not to log cut number contacts or continually ask for
repeats until real numbers are sent or not.
