I am a pretty easy goin' guy, as most of you that know me or have ever read
any of my 3830 reports knows (read the one from the ARRL10 this weekend for
a great holiday example!)

but

One thing that really twists my knickers are cut numbers (or double leading
zero's sent at 19wpm) in a serial # contest.

It's always the weak guy or the guy sending with his left foot and a
straight key who's 339 and has

to repeat it in QRM (and sends it differently each time) that irks me the
most.

ME: NR?

HIM: qrmqrmAA 599 dahdahdahdahdah qrmt qrmdit

ME: NR?

HIM: VE9 VE9AA 5-9-9 qrmdit qrmdah qrm N

ME: NR?

HIM: VE9AA 5-9-9, letter O, letter G, letter N

rinse/repeat

Just send me the dang number as a real number already (and at this point I
want to say bad words to myself in my head about their operating skills).
Especially when they are weak or whatever, I am "counting" (and filling in
time spaces in my head.) If you send me a T, O, or a letter (any letter)or
even 2 leading zeros (I mean, why in the name of Samuel Morse would you even
do that?) I won't be able to decipher it correctly by filling in blanks to
due QRN, QRM, QSB etc.

JUST SEND THE REAL NUMBER - p-l-e-a-s-e.
