Hi Dmitri,
The problem is that they make copy more difficult under marginal 
conditions. Morse numbers are carefully structured so that TIMING aid in 
copy. You haven't lived until you're trying to copy a weak station with 
strong auroral flutter in noise from your neighbor's electronics, 
switching power supplies, and solar systems. And when you run high power 
with good antennas, you get a lot of callers running low power to poor 
antennas.
