You may have noticed fellas(and ladies)...none of us are getting any younger
and in fact, the median age of contesters is surely rising every year. We're
gonna soon "age out" if we don't act.

If we don't bring youth into the sport, no matter how they get RF to fly out
of an antenna.then we are doomed like the

dinosaurs. It wouldn't bother me a fiddle if I knew they were sending CW or
SSB from their smart phone.as long as somewhere along the way there is a
transmitter, coax and a real antenna and a callsign appropriate for the
location thereof.

I don't agree with everything W2RE is doing, but at least this aspect of RHR
is getting kids and youths on the air, who otherwise

wouldn't be on the air, or if so, possibly putting out a puny signal (HOA)

"the more the merrier" I say. I am very pleased to work a young man who's
voice hasn't changed or some YL of 18 that can out QRQ-me on CW.

It gives me hope that after I am in the great pileup in the sky, this hobby
will live on.

As for grumpy old men. I am not quite there yet ;-)

CU (all of a sudden) in the next one.
