If you are a serious contester (meaning you use every feature available to
you), you are NOT going to use N3FJP.
Great stuff, but for beginners. Different strokes for different folks.
As for all the rest, you are going to get a lot of people who are dedicated
to the logger they have learned. However,
you will grow beyond N3FJP if you want to become a serious contester.
One reason N1MM has gained a lot of popularity is that they have a
dedicated, volunteer dev team who listen to all comments/suggestions, then
makes reasoned decisions to make or not make changes. The user group is
very lively,
and the updates are regular and continuous. All for free. N1MM, WinTest
and Writelog are all very serious contest programs and can be used for any
purpose. They are the mainstream. As the list shows, there are many
other loggers,
but they do not have a large following.
At the Field Day site I was at, all the other non-contester people used
N3FJP in a mesh net.
I did VY1AAA and K1B/40m with N1MM+ on separate computers. it worked
great. Other than the rain soaking everything, even inside the tent. We
will merge the K1B logs later.
