The signal reports given in 1959 DX Contests had variety. One page of my
log shows W3CPB getting reports that ranged from 339 to 589. Also I notice
that the reports I gave out were biased toward 579. Since I had no S-meter
my reports were very subjective. In 1959 all of the W3CPB operation was
hunt and peck so how the competition compared signal-strength-wise was a
useful output. If that isn't clear , I did not get everybody on the first
call. I don't have any logs covering the transition to computer
logging, '59 is the most recent data point.
