I'm using Belden twisted-pair mic cable with Neutrik XLR connectors. The
cable shield is braided, no foil. I also tried Canare star-quad cable with
no change.

Before bonding the shells to Pin 1 at the XLR splice, EMI interference was
substantial from my PC monitors. The XLR splice is on an articulated O.C.
White mic arm that folds over from behind the monitors.

I could have simply replaced the entire run of mic cable, but I have a need
to separate the cable at the XLR splice. Regardless, bonding was an
acceptable cure.
