I'm pretty sure those rigs have a Notch control. Those are very prone to getting dirty and shutting down the audio. Wiggling the Notch pot will cure the trouble until next time if that is what's causing it.

Subject: [TenTec] Argosy

My Argosy has developed an annoying problem. The audio level (I think)
goes to or approaches zero. If I repower, audio returns to normal until
it happens again. As I am using it primarily for QRP and running 5
watts I don't know - can't tell if it is affecting output.

I am open to suggestions regarding where I can start poking. It has
both a standard 220 SSB crystal filter as well as the audio cw filter
but the problem seems to occcur regardless if either or none of the
filters are selected.
