These type of problems with audio may be from a bad solder joint, or non
soldered joint, or cracked solder joint. If you tap the shaft of the
volume control, does that restore the audio? That could be a bad pot
wiper, or a bad spot on the pot at the usual volume setting. Control
cleaner might help if sprayed into the pot. (assuming a pot with open
access like 2 watt non military pots.).
The other technique is to tap any wire interconnect jumpers, again looking for a bad connection. Unplugging and replugging any jumpers with connectors clears many a volume problem. GL and 73, Stuart Rohre K5KVH |
