This one really isnt meant to argue with Gene, but the rules may be
confusing. I went back to the arrl page to be sure. The circle is only mentioned in the 300 meter one for shf. Maybe a circle was the intent and that should be fixed. The rules say 200km apart, if all the contacts are within a radius of 200km then the circles' diameter would be 400 km. And Im all for that! Therefore under the rules I saw you could have a perfect triangle with 200km sides. and all points within that triange are within 200 km of each other. Then the trinagle can be expanded a bit by taking the 200 km radius of the three points and drawing each of the corners arc between the corner and the opposing 2 corners. You come up with a rounded triangle where all points within are within 200km of each other. Thats in a perfect world. The discussion here shows the problem in the rules. Draw it out and you will see. Theres gotta be a better way. But a vauge 200km is better than a 50km radius..... 73s .com> Subject: Re: [VHFcontesting] vucc Date: Mon, 12 Feb 2007 14:37:08 -0500 _________________________________________________________________ FREE online classifieds from Windows Live Expo ? buy and sell with people you know http://clk.atdmt.com/MSN/go/msnnkwex0010000001msn/direct/01/?href=http://expo.live.com?s_cid=Hotmail_tagline_12/06 _______________________________________________ VHFcontesting mailing list VHFcontesting@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/vhfcontesting |
