You're not paying for materials, you're paying for engineering. What 
have we been talking about in this thread -- how to design something 
like this that will work! And so far, I haven't seen anyone come up 
with something on their own that someone else didn't work out and  
write about. 

I've bought several antennas from Barry, and they all worked very 
well for what they were -- limited space antennas. I've turned a lot 
of friends on to them, and promoted them in some "how to fit an 
antenna into limited space" tutorials on my website.  I've also 
modeled his designs using NEC, and learned that there's more to them 
than I had initially thought. My only criticism of them is that they 
could be more robust -- I have one up at 120 ft between two redwoods 
with RG11 feeding it. I had to beef it up a LOT. On the other hand, 
it was plenty robust for my far less demanding installation in 
Chicago. I have a lot of respect for what he's done.
