I do it alphabetical that way I never forgot, well most of the time I know
my ABC's.
Connect the larger wires to motor then Blue, Brown, Green, White, Yellow,
you get he idea.

One of the locals had a great scheme, once you connect the larger
motor wires the rest follow the Resistor Color Code (B-B-R-O, etc).
No need to write anything down.
