Joe, to make the radio transmit you will need to know the serial port
"COM" number used for keying PTT. On the radio setup screen under "PTT
Port" open the drop down menu and near the bottom of the list you should
see your COM port listed. Select that, then check both "Enable RTS" and
"Enable DTR". Then "Update".
At this point I usually close the WINLINK session and start from the
home screen. For some reason the program often won't key PTT until I
do that. Winlink bug maybe...I dunno but restarting has always caused
things to work properly.

Aha! So it does work!
What rig did you choose from the Radio Set-up? The two generic-sounding
Icom choices talk to the Omni VI for freq and mode but they don't key
it.
Carl suggested that there may not be a keying command, per se, so maybe
they're toggling something else in FLDigi and MMTTY.
I'm looking at the FLDigi rig control set up and that one has Omni VI
in its list, so that one was a no-brainer. (How lucky for me).
I noticed there's a check box that says "PTT via HamLib command"
(HamLib is what they call their list of rigs that they are pre-set-up
for control)
That box is checked and it suggests to me that PTT is done via a radio
command.
Regarding the PC to radio connections, I'm using a serial port for rig
control and the Line-in/out from the PC directly to the Audio out/in on
the back of the rig.
I'm looking at MMTTY now. It also has Omni VI Plus in its radio list,
so it was also a no brainer.
It's interesting to note that MMTTY also shows the RX and TX command
syntax. ( \$FEFExxE01601FD\w10 for TX )
In my and Winmor TNC Setup, I just picked the PC's sound card device
names from the drop-downs.
In the Radio set-up, I tried both of the generic Icom choices, (Changed
the rig address to 04 to talk to the Omni)
Those both talk to the Omni, except for making it xmit.
What are your Winmor settings Lee?
Thanks, Joe

Joe,
The Omni VI works fine with Winlink Winmor. I have one here that I have
used many times.
I assume MMTTY and fldigi are being used with the Omni. If so, then we
know the hardware interface works so it is only a configuration issue
with Winlink. What do you use for an interface between your computer
and the Omni? In Winlink there are two setup screens that need
attention, "WINMOR TNC setup" and "Radio Setup". TNC setup selects
the sound card interface and Radio Setup selects radio control if used
(yours appears to be working fine) and PPT control.
Can you look at the MMTTY or fldigi setup parameters to get an idea of
what works?

Sounds like the PTT line to the Omni is not getting triggered.
