Eric,

I only use laptops in my shack.  It's a very tiny shack.

BTW, I have built over 50 computers in my life (no exaggerating).
I have accounts with several component vendors in DL.

Sorry, but I just can't get interested in Linux.
An OEM copy of Win7 is quite reasonable.

Remember what I said about this computer:  Currently it only runs my logging
software (WIN-TEST) and firmware updates to my Eagle.  Neither of these run
on Linux.

Rick:

Unless you are banned from doing so in Germany, you can source commuter
parts on ePay and build a machine with little expense.  For the OS go to
Linux MINT or Ubuntu to keep cost down.

I know you have used Linux in the past, but the new versions of the two I
mentioned sure make using Linux easy-peezy!
