I'm late to reading this thread, so please excuse the late comments.
The best deal on high quality bandpass filters for use at the 100-200W
level is 5B4AGN's TXBPF group purchase kit, based on the W3NQN designs
published in QST in the 90s. It comes in at about $400 per set of six
filters, including band decoders and relay drivers for an external
antenna switch, and in a nice enclosure. For decent factory-built
filters you've got to go to Array Solutions for the W3NQN units and
switchbox. They're now also selling a modular box.
I maintain the OEMs could fix the cause of the
problem for a lot less than $800.
Yes, certainly at the <200W power level.
