Depending on conditions, Matt, your "inclination" may be the better practice, because the louder stations have the most callers and it takes longer for the QRP station to get through. If a station is weak because band conditons are poor to his QTH (backscatter, etc) it may be best to resist the temptation to call him. But if the other guys from his area are strong, it may be that he is also QRP or has a poorer transmitting antenna and you may get him on the first call. 73, John. |
