I would think SECC would be interested in SS. If I could do a
comparision - the SECC is about the size or maybe alittle larger then
MRRC. MRRC won the medium class category in 2001 and I can tell you
not even a 1/3 of our members were even full-time. Also, since I have
been in GA and learning the propagation - it is much better down here
for domestic contests. The skip zone on 20 meters is perfect to the
east
coast and midwest and at time I have even heard these same areas on 10
and 15 meters. In Ohio SS was basically a 2 band contest - 40 and 80
meters, you would pray for some short skip on 20, and call all the 5,6
and 7's on 15 and 10 meters.
In MRRC, we put alot of our efforts in winning the medium class in
the ARRL sponsored contests but we didn't discourage guys from not
doing the CQ contests ( too bad they don't break up the club
competition
into classes like the ARRL !!)
