Matthew, it has a purely data mode that doesn't have a voice component
and just because
there's zero interest now doesn't mean some idiot won't decide to try it.
I think we're pretty much done here, we'll never agree on much and
there's way too many
hams that have been beaten to death by Winlink in it's various modes
over more than a few
years. It could have been different but some on the wide band side
preferred to be band bullies
rather than work with others, that will never change. Look at the
proposal, where it originated
and the comments about P4, like I said it's all about email and Winlink
wanting P4 nothing more.

Ron,
It's also classified as Phone under current rules, irrespective of what the
emission designators say it is. Also, to the best of my knowledge (and I say
this because I'm in quite a few System Fusion message groups) there is
absolutely zero interest in operating it on HF; D-STAR does show up on the HF
bands occasionally, but for a very short time and in the Phone portion of the
bands.

Matthew, the reason you don't see wide band digi voice in the sub band
is simple. In the case
of System Fusion, 12.5kHz, the baud rate is 9600 and not legal under
current rules but.....you
knew that was coming, the emission designators are allowed under
current
rules, F1D F7W .
I really don't know what the FCC or the ARRL had in mind when they went
down this dirt road.
