All interfaces require a driver of some kind and Windows 8 (or some
of the OEM versions of Windows 8) has broken several of the hardware drivers. Windows 8 is the new "Vista" and will have corporations
scrambling to retain Windows 7.

You also need to make sure that any commercial thing you get is
certified for Windows 8 as there are reports out that some don't work
with Windows 8.

In fact, you need to *avoid Windows 8*. Windows 8 offers no benefits
for the typical desk/laptop user, has a completely confusing interface
and breaks a lot of hardware.

Yet another reason to avoid commercial interfaces that require a driver.
