Soapbox:

Friday night I repaired the 15 meter delta loop that had been broken for
months. In retrospect, I should have put up the 4-el 6 meter beam that my
father gave me the weekend before (more later).

I originally planned to work about 4 hours of the contest. After I started
operating, I reset my goals to 200 QSOs/100 multipliers. After I passed that,
I decided to continue until 11 p.m. local time (0300Z).

I learned a valuable lesson this weekend (if you're not learning, you're not
growing):

Don't use a stupid nickname like BigPapi (apologies to Mr. Ortiz)
I don't remember how many times I had to send it again.

The runs, when they occurred, were short but fun. Maybe I didn't operate late
enough, but I never felt that 40 meters was any good up here. I was doing
better on 20 meters (as late as 03Z). I was happy to work two new RTTY states
on 10 meters (SC and MI) and one on 15m (OH).

Thanks to the folks that moved for me. Only 5-banders were KB1JZU and AD4EB.

73 - Jim AD1C

p.s. I enjoyed working the same folks again Sunday on 6 meters in the CQWW VHF
contest. I remember working K8IR, WA1Z and AB4GG. I'm sure there were others.
I have never heard 6 meters so good!
