SIDC FORECAST (valid from 1230 UTC, 27 Aug 2004 until 29 Aug 2004)
SOLAR FLARES : Eruptive (C-class flares expected, probability >= 50%)
GEOMAGNETISM : Quiet (A<20 and K<4)
SOLAR PROTONS : Quiet
PREDICTIONS FOR 27 Aug 2004 10CM FLUX: 100 / AP: 008
PREDICTIONS FOR 28 Aug 2004 10CM FLUX: 103 / AP: 004
PREDICTIONS FOR 29 Aug 2004 10CM FLUX: 105 / AP: 004
COMMENT: A CME has been detected by CACTus on 26/08 at 11:06 UT. Its angular
width is measured to be 104 degrees, in the SW. EIT shows evidence of a dimming
along a diagonal channel SE of the active region NOAA 0664 (Catania 02). No
corresponding flare was recorded. Since the velocity of the CME is low (< 340
km/s) we do not expect geomagnetic disturbances from it. Current geomagnetic
conditions are quiet, solar wind speed is around 420 km/s. We expect quiet
geomagnetic conditions for the next few days and for next UT-day mainly quiet
solar activity with chances for C-class flares.
