I could be wrong, but I don't believe that any current production radio
can receive while transmitting. N1MM Logger has an SO2V (single op 2
VFOs) capability that mainly provides for automatic switching between
listening on one VFO or the other, but not listening on one while
transmitting on the other.

In terms of the "one radio" rule, what if someone in the classic
overlay is using the Yaesu FTDX9000D or MP models? That is one radio,
but from what I understand, you can do what is essentially SO2R with it.

I would just add one point. I've been told that the 1 radio no
spotting
caveats were added because some folks on the CQ Committee were
concerned
that non-assisted hot-shots would drop down to the 24-hour overlay
unless these things were outlawed. I frankly doubt this, particularly
with respect to the assisted/non-assisted angle. However, instead of
sitting on the sidelines, it is important that supporters of the
24-hour
category enter it this year, so that we can credibly make the argument
for loosening that restriction next time.
