Curt:

Rebuilding the PTO is easy. Just follow the instructions and try not to drop any small parts or ball bearings. Do the disassembly and assembly work in a small pan. For cleaning, I wiped off the excess grease with tissue, then sprayed the parts with a plastic-safe contact cleaner, or maybe I just used alcohol and a Q-tip. I don't remember exactly. Don't use any solvents that can damage the plastic parts or corrode the brass parts.

I own an Omni D that works well and enjoy using, except the PTO is beginning
to drag. Have the kit to rebuild it, have never done a rebuild before, but
am reasonably mechanically capable. TT tells me the price is $125 to rebuild
it, and then of course the shipping will likely add at least another $50.
They tell me alignment after rebuild is probably not necessary.

So, appreciate advice about rebuilding/having TT rebuild it/ or avoiding the
issue by just selling the rig, Finally, assuming I rebuild, what is the
best solvent to remove the old grease? Is Varsol ok?
