I just received an Omni 6+ that I bought on Ebay. It appears to be working nominally, but the microprocessor flakes out if I drop the input voltage below +13 VDC (measured at the power input connector with a Fluke 179). The manual claims it should work down to +12.0V, and in fact my Paragon 585 works down to something like +10.5V before it flakes out. Is this a common/known problem with the Omni 6+, or is there perhaps a problem with this particular rig. I'd like to be able to run it off a battery, but as it stands, I don't think I can. Thanks, Mike, W4EF............................................. |
