thanks for all replies and suggestions. The hotel was not booked out that fast
but I wanted to make reservation until monday (which was accepted) but the code
is valid only until sunday.

Well that was fast.
That's never stopped me though; every year, for the last 5 years, I've gotten
in by sniping cancellations, especially the week and even the day before
hamvention. It might also help to have IHG points and status (which my wife and
I obtained after churning a few IHG credit cards). I'll betcha this year is no
different.
If all else fails, there's a few nice AirBNBs near downtown within walking
(stumbling) distance. :)
