The logic that one cannot improve one’s callsign demand is flawed because
many use different callsign in WPX. In fact you use AC1U. If they were to
truly make it “fair” they would require everyone to use their own everyday
callsign. But of course they wouldn’t because the rare prefixes are what
makes the contest interesting.
More examples:
KP, KH or KL station operating in CONUS. Some casual ops might think they
are from their call areas.
OR an extreme example - if Martti Laine decided to operate stateside or
even remote with his personal call AH3D (Johnston island) this would be
perceived as an unfair advantage?
I don’t even see 4U1WB beating out most of the top 10 anyway and a lot of
the top 10 don’t have rare prefixes.
The fact that 4U except UN and ITU is counted as host country is a quirk of
the DXCC and CQ DX lists.
