[Yaesu] FT-1000D Intermod

Oddly enough, Chip called me today! Maybe his ears burned over this e-mail!
I told him about the many messages concerning IMD and 160-metre spurs
appearing on the Yaesu Reflector. Yaesu's aware of the latter; they believe
there's other issues involved (like antenna VSWR) as they've been unable to
replicate the problem using 220Vac power. They would like one of the
complainents to send the radio to Yaesu's European test center. Chip was
unaware of the IMD complaints, but will try to find out more. He wonders if
these are the radios with or without the PIN diode modification.

In response to my complaint about Chip not returning calls, you wrote:

I'd suggest trying Jerry Darby x244 I think or Sam ? x247 I think.

Both these guys are more technical than Chip...and I've never gotten a call
back from Chip, either. Sam is the most technical I think and easiest to get
ahold of, but he's fairly fresh "off the boat" I'd say from his accent, so
he may not be the best overall choice. However, I think he is the service
manager.
