Mark,
I was trying to reduce the mount of cabling required, however, I have
now given up and picked up a used laptop with a proper comport. Even
though it's 5 years old it's better than the 11 year old thinkpad I was
previously using. But still, it's really puzzling why the keying doesn't
work in Writelog but is fine in three other programs.

Just a thought, Darren.
Does your laptop accept any plug-in cards? (e.g. PCMCIA?) If so, you could purchase one
inexpensively online. These give you one or more "native" serial ports.

Hi all,
I have a G4ZLP digimaster pro+ which is basically an opto-isolator driven from
an FTDI USB serial port. In CW it randomly goes mad sending all sorts of
rubbish/garbage. It's not RF as i'm only keying the side tone, it's not the
interface as it works fine with Logger32, SD and N1MM, but I'm hoping there is
a simple line to add into the writelog.ini file to make it behave itself?
This has actually been bugging me for a couple of years and until now I have
worked around this by using an old Winkey on the laptop's comport. But I've now
changed the 'holiday laptop' to a newer one and it doesnt have a com port. I
was hoping that the erratic behaviour was machine specific but its still the
same on the newer laptop. If I can't solve this I'll have to go down the
separate USB serial port route as I'm really reluctant to buy another winkey
USB. In these times of extortionate excess baggage charges every LB/1/2 KG
helps and the fewer cables/interfaces I need to pack the better it is.
Any advice would be appreciated.
