Major breakthrough! After several frustrating hours trying to get the new
improved WriteLog Sound Board Mixer Level Control for Vista/Win7 to function
correctly with Rittyrite I've given up. Instead of pounding my head into
the proverbial wall I reread the Help manual section on "How WriteLog sets
up sound board mixers"and found the following near the end of the section
for those running old obsolete operating systems, like XP, that actually
worked:

"The Vista-style sound board control described above is also available on
earlier systems, but it is not enabled by default when WriteLog is
installed. If you would prefer to use the Windows OS mute and level
controls, or if your sound board driver and WriteLog don't reliably
cooperate to control the mixers, then you can use the Vista-style mixer
control on earlier systems. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to WriteLog
\Programs directory where it installed all its executables. Find the file
WlogSbControlW6.exe and use it instead of the Start menu, WriteLog V10,
Sound Board Mixer control. After you run this executable and select sound
boards, running WriteLog will use the Vista-style method and will not
manipulate the level controls or mute switches."

I reasoned that if an XP user could use the new Vista/Win7 Sound Board Mixer
then why couldn't a Vista user, namely me, go back to the old pre-Vista
Sound Board Mixer? Answer is you can! I went into WriteLog\Programs and
found the old Sound Board Mixer file, WlogSbControl.exe, and ran it. Lo and
behold the old mixer board starts up, I configure it the way I always had
before and tah dah! - Rittyrite suddenly starts receiving CW again just the
way it always did! I've now changed the Properties in the WriteLog Sound
Board Mixer icon to start the old sound board instead of the new one. It
worked fine before and it works fine now. I'm done being on the bleeding
edge of solving this problem. Now to enjoy radio again!
