Hi Steve et all;
I have had the rig set to a different address
than the program, and the program would not
talk to the rig via the COMM/CT17 until
the address in the rig agreed with the address
in the program. I found this out when I began
to configure DX4WIN and Writelog to talk to
the new IC 746 PRO. The Pro rig address default
is 66H and the old 746 default is 56H. Dx4win has
a 746 Pro setting so I used that in DX4WIN. Writelog
however; didn't have the Pro as selection and I selected
the 746 setting and writelog would not talk to the
rig until I re-addressed the RIG. WA9ALS has mentioned
that the .INI file can be used to set the ICOM rig
address but the rig and the program must agree.
