I use the Keyspan PDA adapter
http://www.keyspan.com/products/usb/PDAadapter/
for this connection to my laptop. The product description says it's for PDAs
and tablets, but in fact it's a standard RS232C serial connection and works
very well controlling my MP. You should be able to plug your existing DB-9 to
DB-9 cable into it and the radio.
The cost is a reasonable $39 from Keyspan or from distributors.
I'm using it in Windows 98 SE; your new PC probably has a newer operating
system. I don't have any experience with this item with newer versions of
Windows; perhaps others have used it in this application.
Hope this helps.
