Hello Pete,

Well, I helped my cause by having my radio linked to the logging program all the time now. I needed a COM port managing software program to do that so two applications could use one COM port. WSJTx is the other program.  That does not prevent me from screwing up, but it helps.  In the station list do you mean N3NGE?  How did I miss Len's big signal?

My new "industrial" 12 volt computer is working fine in the cold wx. So far I have had no issues with crashes etc. That is a relief. A few days the shack was at about 20F.

Dave, congratulations on those fantastic results.

I have a little story to tell about last night.

Ron and I had a short chat about each of us hearing and working stations  that the other didn’t work. This morning I decided to compare Ron’s report against my log.  Well, the numbers didn’t quite add up and I ran through the logs quite a few times and still they didn’t add up.  So, I put it aside until this evening.  I slowly checked each call and I found my mistake.

Remember a month or so ago you admitted you forgot to log me?  And in fact, we talked several times. Well, I suddenly realized that K1WHS was not in my log.  And I remembered the two qsos we had.  The first was before you worked WA3EOQ.  This was one of the rare times I knew where to look for WA3EOQ.  So after you finished your qso I jumped in and made a contact with WA3EOQ.  So then I found you again and told you I grabbed your tail and made the contact too.  So, now we both have done the same thing forgetting to log our qso.  I am sure it was accidental for the both of us.  I know I can’t believe I did that.  I don’t know what to say except it’s tough getting old.  I think you need to be extra careful on your towers.

I wound up with 13 in my log and the stations I worked that weren’t in Ron’s log were WA2VVV, K1FMS, WA3NGE and AF1T. `73, Pete       K1PXE

Hello 222 ops

Here is a summary of 222 activity heard and worked from Maine for the

Tuesday night after Christmas. Activity was great, and it was great also

to hear K1TEO on and working lots of good stuff from his perch in

western Connecticut.  Good Buddy Ron WZ1V was on early and was beating

the band to death. My antenna is still messed up with one of the four

yagis twisted way off the boresight setting by about 35 or 40 degrees.

It still seems to work OK.

After awhile, I looked at the QSO list and it was getting close to 30

contacts, which would be a first for me for a Tuesday night. K2RMX got

on late and called me for #29 then I was called by KC2SGV on SSB. It

took me quite awhile to get his call correct but then condx improved and

he came up out of the noise and was Q5. That was #30, and WA4YA made 31

on FT8. The QSB was pretty deep this evening. I noticed it on many

signals including WA3EOQ who was not audible at the start of our sked.

When we finished then K1PXE called him, and then Howard peaked up and

was Q5 for an entire 30 second transmission.  That was pretty cool.

K1RZ was making lots of noise with his new setup. He was running about

55 to 569 here when I heard him. I also copied him on FT8. I never heard

K3SK in FM07. I did listen for Dave when he was transmitting. It just

did not work. It seems that there was a bit of enhancement in southern

New England, and some really good condx down towards Florida. A few nice

contacts were made down in that area. Hopefully, we will get a report.

Here is the log...
