I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I'd like to see some data
supporting your statement. A shift of even 200 KHz up from 50.125 is
only 0.4%. Are your 6M antennas *REALLY* that narrow in bandwidth?
I have little to no experience on the meteors, so I'll admit that I'm
unfamiliar with where the calling frequency is now. But I *DO* know
that often up here at least that there are people on non-digital modes
above 50.200 in contests. Now that I know that the EME activity is
there, I will stay out of its way but not everyone will knoe to,
particularly if the band gets crowded.
I know we're talking about 6M here, but on 2M many stations up here are
using 144.240 or higher for QSO coordination, particularly for
microwaves. So it's not just the calling frequencies which get busy.
It may be stating the obvious, but if you want a segment free of
incidental QRM, you're better off higher in the band, not lower.
