Thursday, May 12th, 2011 (hoping that this makes TODAY'S moderator approval
for VHFcontesting postings)
A reminder that TODAY (5/12/2011) is the log submission deadline for the
2011 432 MHz Spring Sprint. Two mailed paper logs have been received and
added to the set, bring the total log count to 44, but aren't there some
more out there? One station's log reports SIXTY contacts made so there MUST
have been more stations active. It is now definitely too late to smail-mail
a paper log for 432 but there's still time to use WA7BNM's Web-to-Cabrillo
form to submit a log entry for 432 MHz
http://b4h.net/cabforms/spring432sprint_cab.php.
The count of logs received for the Microwave Sprint has reached 19 with all
that I have received through this morning (5/12). The log submission
deadline date for Microwave is May 23, 2011 but do remember that any
"mailed" logs must be RECEIVED by that date so if anyone is mailing a log it
should be IN the mail ASAP. WA7BNM's Web-to-Cabrillo form for the 2011
Microwave Spring Sprint is waiting, too

Repeating from update #3 - THIS coming Saturday brings the FINAL Spring
Sprint event for 2011, 50 MHz. It is on Saturday, May 14th, 2011, in the
afternoon and evening for North America, starting at 2300 UTC on May 14th
and running through 0300 UTC on May 15th. Let's hope for some "E" and maybe
the more "consistent" kind...not the "sporadic" stuff ;-) so the band is
"full" from 50.125 to 50.200 (and above?) and don't forget the CW segment,
50.090 to 50.100. I also remind 'state-siders' to remember to NOT call CQ in
the DX Window (50.100 to 50.125), okay to answer CQs from DX stations that
you might find in that range (and wouldn't it be great if there were a bunch
of them in there for us TO work during the Sprint!).
Although the "official" deadline for submitting 50 MHz logs is May 31
(actually allowing 16 days due to the Memorial Day holiday), it would REALLY
help me if anyone submitting would NOT WAIT until that deadline, would
participants please try to submit logs no later than May 25th? (And that
includes mailed paper logs...in the mail to be RECEIVED by May 25th.)
Log checking is already underway for 144 MHz and 222 MHz.
Thanks to all who have participated so far.
