This law applies to antennas for direct broadcast TV also. It started with
the satellite TV dishes but when the direct broadcast TV guys realized that
this gave satellite TV an advantage they fired their lobbyist up and got the
FCC to include them. The law requires "reasonable accommodation" and a 45
foot tower might be pushing that but give it a shot. DO NOT tell them that
you are going to be using it for ham radio/transmitting. The law only
applies to receive only antennas for TV. Lucky for us there is no way to
look at an antenna and be able to tell the difference. Good luck Les and I
agree with everyone that an outdoor antenna beats an antenna in the attic by
a mile.

I believe the federal law only applies to a satellite dish, i.e.,
DirecTV. They had a very powerful lobby. This has been hashed out
before. However, if you're homeowner's assoication is misinformed, take
advantage of the opportunity.
