K9JK, N9UX and others have written some good notes on
locations in eastern Wisconsin. I've roved a fair amount in
eastern Wisconsin but haven't written much down (yet). I
like the roversites website that John mentioned and hope to
contribute at some point.
As your travel adventures expand, there are plenty of other
good grid corners in Central and Northern Wisconsin, as well
as the UP. This past Jan, Here are 8 spots I used:

options in the Milwaukee area and in SE Wisconsin.

I started with one band (2m) and had fun with that for 2 or
3 years before I then went to 2 bands and then later 3 bands
(now 7). Complexity goes up but you become more valuable to
multi-band fixed stations and they look for you harder.
As you get into roving, I hope you are rewarded (like I
have) with joys that you don't even anticipate now. My
approach is for the fun and adventure. At times I've been
rewarded with high levels of activity. If you are after
high activity, it will shape your location decisions.
Personally, I'm after distance and trying to activate rarer
grids for the fixed stations.
