Ron,
You hit the nail on the head with your comments on
APRS and findu.com. I was trying to make the point
that APRS being used for locating where Rovers are is
no different than knowing where a fixed station is
located and pointing in that direction. As Ron said,
"it's geographic information". Single ops should be
able to use it too.....Especially with what was seen
on pingjockey. Perhaps if APRS had been allowed a few
years ago, I might have worked more than locals from
Fort Fisher in FM13. That was a wasted trip to a
somewhat rare grid. And then, APRS would have reported
me in FM14, FM04 and FM03.....three more grids I don't
hear on too much during the contests. At any rate,
this was a point well made Ron.
