Seems like this topic comes up every 6 months or so.  Warning:
Potential Controversy Ahead!   What has worked best for me over the
years is no coax seal at all.  Sealing connections outside never seems
to work in the long run.  You wind up with this failed gooey tarry
tapey mess of whatever is your poison:  shrink tube, silicone, 3M 33
tape, or worst of all, that tar junk.  What I do is position my
connections so they are out of the rain by putting them under shields
of some sort, and if out on the ground, elevating them a few inches so
they aren't sitting in water.  When dry wx returns, any dampness dries
out.  All those seals seem to only seal in moisture.
