The "rope" used by Hy-Gain is 5/32" polypropolene ...

Manuals for the 204BA, 205CA, 155CA, 105CA, LP-1009A,
LP-1010A, TH5D, TH7DX, TH11DX, EXP-14, VB-64DX and
VB-66DX manuals in my file all call for rope in elements
(monoband elements for TH5/TH7/TH11/EXP-14).

I do not have manuals for the 203BA, 153BA and 103BA so
I have not checked them but suspect they also call for
rope dampers as the element construction is the same
as the bigger antennas. All of the Hy-Gain element tips
are 7/16"

Paul,

My HyGain 5-el 10m (LJ-105BA or similar) yagi has what looks like black
polypropolene inside the elements.
It's pretty small..1/4" maybe?
It's held "in" by the end caps on the elements, which of course, crack and
fall off. I think I eventually lost
1 of the ropes.
I'd probably do a "gob of silicone" or something if I was to ever redo it.
